
Catherine Jane Ford (born 5 December 1969) is professionally known as Catherine Tate, is an English comedian, actress and writer. Tate has been nominated for seven times for the BAFTAs as well as an International Emmy Award, and numerous other awards for her performance in BBC sketch comedy show The Catherine Tate Show (2004)-2007. Tate was Donna Noble's partner in Doctor Who's Christmas special from 2006. The actress later reprised her role and was later the Tenth Doctor's companion on a regular basis in the fourth series of Doctor Who in 2008. [2] Following The Catherine Tate Show's success, Tate played Joanie Taylor ("Nan") on the BBC One comedy series Catherine Tate's Nan (2009-2015) as well as in The Nan Movie (2022). In the year 2011, Tate began an ongoing role as Nellie Bertram in The Office, the U.S. version of The Office and became a regular until the series was cancelled. [3] She played the character as Miss Sarah Postern in the BBC One sitcom Big School (2013-2014) and she voiced Magica De Spell in the animated TV series DuckTales (2017-2021). Tate had six roles in Hard Cell, the Netflix comedy series that she co-wrote with her husband and directed with her co-writer.
