Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised by an ethnically mixed family. Her father is Nigerian as well as Swiss and her mom is English. Her family was raised in a south London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age 14. In London, she studied at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in which her acting diploma was obtained. She was a part of various stages during her high school days, including the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe's acting career started with Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had guest appearances in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film appearance was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), opposite Colin Farrell. In the wake of that film's success, she played Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in the six episodes of Trexx and Flipside playing Ollie. In 2008, the actress was offered Bambi as the main character in ITV2's comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe made an appearance in the comedy film How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. Theatre credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe was a part of Ashley Davenport for ABC's Drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode drama aired just 2 weeks at The CW and then it came to an end. Ashley Davenport, a character on ABC's Revenge drama, was chosen for her as Ashley Davenport. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was announced that Madekwe, who had been a series regular in the past two seasons, had decided to quit the show following a guest appearance in the premier episode of the season's new episode. In the television series Salem, she played Tituba in 2014 through 2016. Madekwe wed her actor boyfriend Iddo goldberg in June of 2012. They have worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he played a part with her on the TV series Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. Her parents were Roy and Patty as well as her four brothers, Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. The four brothers of Ashley, each of them extremely active, took part in hockey during the winters and baseball in the summers, meaning they grew up mostly in baseball and arenas. Ashley could never walk but she was able to dance. As she was two and a half, she began Baby Ballet and fell in the love. Ashley developed a passion for dancing when she began Baby Ballet. Ashley was a top competitor in divisions for jazz, tap ballet, hip hop, the lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics as well as pointe until the time she completed in high school. Ashley was awarded the top soloist honor at each major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among the few.
